The celebration of “World Tourism Day 2013” organized by the Ministry of Cooperative” Trade & Food, Small Industries, Textile Industries, Rural Development & Tourism – NCP, was held in Anuradhapura Prison Premises on 27th of September. On this occasion, there was a special program organized to conserve “Malwathu Oya” among two kilo meters of area. During the program, a tree planting event, an awareness program for the community and responsible stake holders, a distribution of Compost Bins for the people who are lived in the river side area by the participation of Sri Lanka Rajarata University, Sri Lanka Hotel School, Sri Lanka Police, Central Environmental Authority and other invitees.
The Training Program for issuing Guiding Licenses valid to the North Central Provincial Tourist Sites for Area Tour Guide Lecturers in North Central Province has been arranged to start during the month of November 2013 by the Ministry of Cooperative, Trade & Food, Small Industries, Textile Industries, Rural Development & Tourism – NCP. This time, the ministry plans to issue 40 licenses to the top selected applicants.
“Poduraja Dhaja” - The Welcome Ceremony of Commonwealth Youth Summit Flag Parade to Anuradhapura was held last week by the presence of North Central Provincial Chief Minister Hon. S.M.Ranjith Samarakoon, Hon. Min. K.H. Nandasena, Hon. Min. H.B. Semasinghe, Hon. Mayor of the Urban Council, Anuradhapura and the participation of many more invitees.
